The Ambassador performs a variety of tasks during the funeral and memorialization process and assists Funeral Directors and other location staff to ensure services run smoothly and that the expectations of our client families and their guests are exceeded.
The Funeral Assistant is accountable for performing a variety of tasks during the funeral and memorialization process and assists Funeral Directors and other location staff to ensure services run smoothly and that the expectations of our client families and their guests are exceeded.
Greets and escorts client families and their guests to the appropriate visitation room or chapel.
Answers questions and assists with serving the needs of the client families, their guests, and other visitors during the visitation and memorialization event.
Places caskets in parlors or chapels prior to service.
Ensures that public spaces such as parlors, chapels, and reception/rest areas are clean and prepared prior to scheduled services.
Receives and places flowers in chapels or parlors.
Carries flowers to hearses or limousines for transportation.
Closes caskets at appropriate point in services.
Directs parking and/or lines up visitor cars in an orderly and safe fashion.
Prepares, cleans, and drives funeral vehicles such as cars or hearses in funeral processions.
Transfers the deceased into our care.
Assists in preparation of the deceased, including dressing and casketing (where applicable).
Obtains burial permits, death certificates, and any other necessary documents.
Receives, unloads, and arranges merchandise in the selection room.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical The duties associated with this position are generally performed in an indoor office setting; however, some duties may be performed outdoors.
Outdoor duties may require exposure to natural elements such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, uneven ground, dust, gas, and/or fumes.
Employees in this role are regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and often over 75 pounds.
Performance of this position's duties may also require power reaching, pushing, and pulling.
Employees in this role must be able to perform job duties when awakened from a sound sleep.
This position's duties require routine exposure to chemicals and/or blood borne pathogens.
Employees must be able to drive a company vehicle and maintain a good driving record and must be insurable under company vehicle insurance.
