Job Description:
Follows detailed verbal and/or written instructions, reads and interprets moderately complex blueprint drawings and specifications to set-up and machine items to fabricate parts as required. Develops and revises Machine Control Data (MCD) and geometry.

Additional job duties include: Operation setup, operate and adjust numerous types of conventional or Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) grinding equipment, utilizing drawings, sketches, specification documents, pre-planned control media and/or program documents to fabricate, inspect, refurbish, alter and/or sharpen tools (e.g., end mills, cutters, reamers). May additional operate other machining equipment (manual and CNC) such as knee mills, engine lathes, drill presses, band saws, shears, etcetera.
General tasks include:
Perform grinding, sharpening, and honing of cutting tools such as drill bits, end mills, reamers, and other perishable tools.
Perform customization of commercial cutting tools such as pilot grinding, custom diameters, custom radius, custom lengths, and/or silver soldering of threaded collets.
Conduct preventative maintenance on grinding machines and other machining equipment.
Machine shop aids and drill fixtures from drawings or sketches using manual mills, 3-axis CNC knee mills, engine lathes, and other shop equipment.
Use precision optical and physical measuring instruments (e.g., optical comparator, optical analyzer, bevel protractor, spirit level) to verify correct cutting tool, shop aid, or drill fixture geometry.
Select machine accessories and holding devises (e.g., chucks, vises, templates, tracers).

Major Skills:
Should have general shop skills including Foreign Object and Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, and calibration requirements. Should have knowledge and proficiency in a variety of precision measuring instruments including micrometers, height gauges, calipers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and etcetera. Must be able to work in a team environment and perform duties in multiple manufacturing disciplines. Must be well versed in safety regulations including detecting, reporting and correcting safety issues.

Fabrication skills should include competencies in a variety of shop equipment, fabrication techniques, and safety requirements including tool grinding, shearing, sawing, cutting, drilling, and machining. Prefer individual with experience operating a Harig Model 103 manual grinder or similar grinding machine. Must have ability to safely operate equipment such as hydraulic shears, hydraulic/manual brakes, drill presses, grinders, band saws, cutoff saws, chop saws, table saws, manual/CNC mills, manual/CNC lathes, and etcetera. CNC programming experience on mills and lathes desirable.

Other Work Related Information:
This assignment requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. US Citizenship Required. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. Government authorities.

Education
High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
